“ae tair-e-lahoti us rizq se mout achi – jis rizq se aati ho parwaz me kotahi” Sir Allama Iqbal

Here is the complete poem:

When the love of God teaches self—awareness,
To slaves are revealed the secrets known to kings.

Plaints and yearnings alone can bring success,
Whether it be Rumi or Razi or Ghazali the great.

O leader of men, despair not of their worth,
Loyal to thee thy followers are, though sluggish.

O ethereal bird! It is better to starve to death,
Than to live on a prey that clogs thy wings in flight.

Better than Darius and Alexander is the fakir,
Whose piety has the attributes of ‘The Tiger of God.’

  2. O Bird, who flies to the Throne of God, You must keep this truth in sight,
To suffer death is nobler far Than bread that clogs your upward flight.

  4. It feels like a satire on our hypocrite society. We make gods here and there to achieve our petty goals.
Nobody is inclined towards excellence, but shortcuts to get maximum cash in ones pocket.
This is the cause of incompetency in our leadership at all levels.
